Are dating apps worth it anymore reddit

I suspect that if youre not paying, the apps incentivize you by showing you people you will not match with. Or are unlikely to connect with. Its probably how they get you to pay on these things.

And did it work? In my personal experience, most people on Reddit are untrustworthy of other redditors. Yeah, I know, there are lots of scammers around but that doesnt mean I am a scammer too. They dont even put in the effort to check that.

To add onto this: unless youre very attractive and willing to pay, its not worth it. I get somewhere between 12-18 likes per day on Tinder, but even with an over 50 swipe rate, I dont get too many matches. And when I do, theyre either too far away, or it never goes beyond a few texts. Most guys get maybe 2-3 likes, and that expires after 24 hours if you dont match on most.

It depends. I know people for whom they work very well. I know people who got married after meeting on a dating app. Pretty much everyone I dated since HS I met on a dating app, but its a struggle.

Ive met my current partner there and were now living together and planning the future for us. Id say its worth it but if youre man, its questionable. Theres as bad as 9:1 ratio of men to women on Tinder in some countries so if you arent very attractive or interesting thats not gonna work out well.
