Calculate date diff online

Literature lover or not, all of us at some point would have come across the phrase, Time and tide wait for none. We live in a traversing world where everything is dynamic and each second matters, and in all of this hustle, keeping track of dates and duration can become a challenge.

Calculate date difference in days or business days between 2 dates. Enter the dates. Check Count Business Days Only to calculate only business days (Monday through Friday). Check Saturday is a Business Day if you consider it so.

The following statements have the same startdate and the same enddate values. Those dates are adjacent and they differ in time by a hundred nanoseconds (.0000001 second). The difference between the startdate and enddate in each statement crosses one calendar or time boundary of its datepart. Each statement returns 1.

If only a time value is assigned to a date data type variable, DATEDIFF sets the value of the missing date part to the default value: 1900-01-01. If only a date value is assigned to a variable of a time or date data type, DATEDIFF sets the value of the missing time part to the default value: 00:00:00. If either startdate or enddate have only a time part and the other only a date part, DATEDIFF sets the missing time and date parts to the default values.

DATEDIFF implicitly casts string literals as a datetime2 type. In other words, DATEDIFF doesnt support the format YDM when the date is passed as a string. You must explicitly cast the string to a datetime or smalldatetime type to use the YDM format.

This calculator does not exclude holidays. If you are counting holidays as non-business days you must extend your final date to include the number of holidays you span. For example, if your range spans across weekdays for July 4th and Labor Day you would extend 2 days.
