When I was on Hinge, this prompt got me a fair amount of interaction. I like that it can pique someones curiosity and is a natural conversation starter. They dont have to think of something to say or ask, they simply have to guess what Im lying about.
Hinge prompts allow you to showcase your personality outside of your standard bio, taking some of the awkwardness out of starting a conversation. (Not to mention give you an opportunity to hardballaka say exactly what youre looking for.) After combing through 105 Hinge prompts, I picked my ten favorites that have been good conversation starters for me on the app. I also spoke with Amie Leadingham, Master Certified Relationship Coach, and Logan Ury, Hinges Director of Relationship Science, about their tips for building a strong profile.
Starting a conversation on a dating app can be tricky. You dont have the benefit of being face-to-face, so you want to make sure your tone is friendly, fun and inviting without coming across as too excited. While the majority of Hinge prompts are meant to share information about yourself, I like an opportunity to deflect a question to the other person. This is a good way to ask something that might reveal whether your priorities line up. For example, I believe that partners should have healthy relationships outside of their own, so it would be a concern to me if someone said they werent really close to any of their family or couldnt name at least one close friend.
